A social tracker for groups who drink together. Count beers, plan nights out, compete with friends — do it in real life, not just online.
One Million Beer is a social app for groups of friends who like going out together. The premise is simple: your crew tracks every beer you drink, validates each other's counts, and races toward one million beers as a team.
The goal isn't really one million beers — it's the excuse to go out, the group chat that actually has a point, and the mild bragging rights when your team tops the leaderboard. It brings people together in real life, not just online.
Sign up with any email address. Your profile shows your total beers, how many nights out you've had, and which teams you're part of. You can set a bio, your city, and a profile photo. Notifications can be toggled per device so you only get pinged when something actually matters to you.
Teams are the core unit. Create one, give it a name, and invite your friends via a unique invite code (or a QR code that drops new users straight into your team on sign-up).
Teams have roles — owner, admin, and member. You can set a "turf": a home bar or spot your team is usually at, visible on the map to others. Teams can also form rivalries or alliances with other teams, which feed into custom leaderboards and map visibility.
Log your beers (or other drinks) from anywhere in the app. Every entry starts as pending and needs to be validated by at least one other teammate — two for bigger teams. This keeps things honest and turns validation into a social moment: you see your mate's count pop up and tap to confirm you were there.
Once validated, the count adds to your personal tally and every team you're currently in.
Post a plan in your team to say where you're going. Plans can have multiple stops — pre-drinks here, club there, late-night spot after — each pinned on a real map. Teammates can react, comment, and join the plan.
When the night starts, a team owner or admin launches the plan live. From that point, the route shows up on the map for your team with numbered stop markers so everyone knows the route. Stops are private to your team — they don't leak to the public map.
The map shows a few layers at once:
🍺 Nearby bars — pulled live from Mapbox based on your location. 🏠 Public places — spots added to the app by admins that aren't partners yet. ⭐ Partner bars — affiliated venues that offer deals or discounts to users. Tap one to see any active events or happy hours. 📍 Public plans — upcoming or live night-out routes from public teams, so you can see where the commotion is. 🔴 Your live routes — when your team has an active night out, your numbered stop route appears here, visible only to team members.
There's a global leaderboard and city-level boards. Admins can also create custom leaderboards — for a semester, a tournament, a friend group — and teams can enroll. Every leaderboard can be public or private, and can run between set dates.
Rivalry leaderboards let two groups directly compare their counts, which tends to speed things up considerably.
Bars and venues can become partners. Don't worry, its not a must, I know you are out of money. Partner places show on the map with a gold star marker and can post events, happy hours, or team discounts directly in the app. The idea: partners get customers directed their way, teams get deals. Everyone wins, ideally.
Enable notifications on your device and you'll get a ping when a teammate logs beers (so you can validate), when a plan goes live, or when a new plan is posted. Notifications go to your device specifically, not your account, so you can enable them on your phone and not your laptop.
One Million Beer is a Progressive Web App — you can install it on your phone's home screen and it behaves like a native app. On iOS, tap Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android, tap the install prompt or use the browser menu. No App Store required.
